WE WRITE OUR STORY

The Democratic Party has long been woven into the fabric of West Virginia, and nowhere is that truer than in Marion County.

Our history is grounded in labor, education, and a deep belief in community—values that have defined who we are and why we organize.

Built by Working Hands

Marion County Democrats have never sat on the sidelines.

From the coal towns of Monongah and IdaMay to the steel mills of Fairmont, and the classrooms that shape our future, our union roots run deep. We've marched beside miners demanding justice, stood with teachers fighting for fair pay, and worked shoulder to shoulder with neighbors building a better tomorrow.

This is where some of West Virginia’s earliest labor unions took hold. It’s where ordinary people—mothers, veterans, students, and steelworkers—rallied for roads, schools, and clean water.

From the hills of Mannington to the neighborhoods of White Hall, Marion County Democrats have always believed that real change starts at home.

Change doesn’t come from the top down. It starts right here—side by side, neighbor to neighbor.

We don’t wait for someone else to fix things. We step up—by registering voters, organizing town halls, sharing food and resources, and showing up when it matters most.

Marion County Democrats are proud to be part of this work—but we know the movement is bigger than any one party.

We know a better tomorrow starts at home, with all of us—standing together, protecting what we believe in, and building what comes next because we believe in politics that put people first.
